ABOUT US - Karkinium Cancer Council (KCC)
Introducing "KARKINIUM" to the Nation and World
KARKINIUM
I am thrilled to present a newly coined term, "KARKINIUM," brought to you by the co-founders of KCC. This term is derived from the Greek word "Karkinos," which was introduced by the ancient father of physician Hippocrates (460–370 BC).
The term "karkinos" directly relates to cancer and malignant growth. By adding the suffix “-ium,” commonly found in scientific nomenclature for elements, compounds, and research terminology, we create a modern identity. Thus, "Karkinium" represents a unified space where humanity collaborates to combat cancer and serves as a distinctive identifier for our mission.
OUR STORY
A Story That Changed Everything
Some journeys begin with a plan. Ours began with a loss.
This is not just the story of an organization. This is the story of our family, a brother, a son, and a promise that refused to fade.
The Man Who Inspired It All
At the heart of this story is Late Azam Ali Khan, a Sub-Inspector in the Intelligence Department in Uttarakhand Government — a man of discipline, courage, and quiet strength.
To the world, he served in uniform with honesty. For us, he was everything — a protector, a guide, a pillar. He taught his only son, daughters, and brothers to live with honesty, discipline, and kindness.
When It All Began
It started with a small complaint — a slight pain in the chest. Nothing seemed serious.
Like any family, we trusted the process. We visited doctors, took opinions, and followed treatments.
Different explanations came — rib issue, weakness, diabetes, anemia. But none revealed the truth.
The Moment That Broke Us
As time passed, his condition worsened. Weight dropped. Strength faded. One day, his legs stopped responding.
An MRI was done, and then came the words that shattered everything:
Stage 4 Cancer.
The Longest 10 Months
Life changed overnight. Home became a hospital. Days became sleepless. Nights became endless.
During this time, Mohd Danish Khan — his only son — stood by him every moment, day and night, without rest or complaint.
Alongside him, Inayat Khan (younger brother of Late Azam Ali Khan) and a close family friend of Shahabaz Khan stood like unbreakable pillars.
- Emotional battle
- Mental battle
- Financial battle
Despite rising costs, exhaustion, and fear, hope never stopped.
The Day Everything Changed
On 25th July, after 10 months of struggle, Azam Ali Khan passed away.
That day was not just a loss. It was silence, emptiness, and pain beyond words.
The Question That Became a Mission
In the middle of grief, one question kept returning:
- What if we had known earlier?
- What if the diagnosis wasn’t late?
- What if awareness existed at the right time?
- What if guidance had reached us sooner?
That one thought changed everything.
From Pain to Purpose
In August 2025, Inayat Khan, Mohd Danish Khan, and Shahabaz Khan came together with a shared purpose.
We founded the Karkinium Cancer Council (KCC), officially registered as a Section 8 Nonprofit Company on 27th October 2025 under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

Why We Exist
- We exist because cancer does not discriminate — and neither do we.
- We do not recognize caste, religion, race, or gender.
- We firmly oppose racism, discrimination, and social divisions.
- Our mission is humanity first — to serve people with dignity, compassion, and equal opportunity.
What We Do
KCC works on a 360° cancer ecosystem model:1. Awareness & Prevention
Awareness rallies, school & college programs, street plays, and digital campaigns.
2. Early Detection & Screening
Low-cost/free screening camps in urban and rural areas. Collaborations with hospitals and diagnostic centers for affordable testing. Free community health talks and training sessions on lifestyle risk factors, prevention, and early signs.
3. Fundraising for Patients
We create EMERGENCY and long-term FUNDRAISER — but exclusively for Cancer and Rare diseases. Families and attendants can register a verified fundraiser. 100% transparency: every rupee is tracked, and utilization reports are shared with donors.
4. Treatment & Care Support
Launching Cancer Care Homes — free accommodation, meals, and psychological support for patients & families. Future chain of Karkinium Chemo Centers in every district of India.
5. Rehabilitation & Employment
“Skill & Job Rehabilitation Program” for survivors in partnership with private & government skill centers. Survivors will be trained, certified, and connected with jobs to rebuild their lives.
6. Training & Capacity Building
Internships for medical/nursing/paramedical students. Online and offline training with certificates issued by KCC. Volunteer and professional development under the “Karkinium Army” banner.
7. Data Collection & Research
Building a national database of cancer patients, in partnership with families, hospitals, and attendants. Data will drive future research, policy advocacy, and institutional development. Plans to establish Karkinium Institute & Research Centers for advanced study, training, and innovation in cancer care.
